Christian Clauwers is a documentary photographer and explorer dedicated to capturing the urgent environmental shifts of our time.

Through powerful imagery, he highlights global warming, biodiversity loss, sea level rise, and the degradation of fragile ecosystems, giving a human and cultural face to climate change. His work promotes education, fosters awareness, and inspires action worldwide.

With expeditions spanning the polar regions to the Pacific, Christian combines field experience with academic rigor, holding dual master’s degrees in Political Science and Global Management. He is a Fellow of The Explorers Club, the Royal Geographical Society and an EU Climate Pact Ambassador.

Hans Bruyninckx is the former Executive Director of the European Environment Agency (2013–2023).

A Belgian political scientist, he holds a PhD in international environmental politics from Colorado State University and has taught at universities across Europe and the US.

His career spans over two decades of research and policy leadership in climate change, sustainability, and global environmental governance.

Beyond academia, he has advised governments, civil society, and business on environmental transitions.

Fluent in four languages, he is also an avid sailor and outdoor enthusiast.

Rosanna is currently pursuing a PhD in Robotics at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), where her research focuses on developing markerless tracking algorithms for human motion within the Robotics & Multibody Mechanics group.

She has contributed to several innovative projects, including the design of an underwater robot control system for seafloor waste cleanup.

Passionate about sustainability and the societal impact of technology, Rosanna joined SEA to support its mission and raise awareness of climate change and environmental challenges through science and engineering.

Abeer bint Saud bin Farhan Al Saud is a Saudi explorer, peacebuilding and development expert, cultural programmer, and multidisciplinary artist.

For over a decade, she has bridged science, heritage, and advocacy to reimagine sustainable futures across fragile and extreme environments.

Founder of Sublime Arabia and the Sustainable Development Association (Talga), she has led pioneering initiatives on regenerative development, peacebuilding, and cultural preservation.

An accomplished explorer and artist, Abeer brings regional leadership and global vision to advancing cultural equity, environmental resilience, and cross-cultural understanding.

Herman Hellenbosch graduated in 1992 with a Master of Law from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, followed by a postgraduate Master in Economic Law.

Since 1993, he has been a member of the Antwerp Balie, where he has built extensive expertise in commercial and economic law.

For more than 20 years, he has served as a court-appointed curator in insolvency cases at the Antwerp Commercial Court.

In 1999, he was appointed deputy judge at the Court of Peace in Merksem, now the 10th canton of Antwerp, where he continues to contribute his legal knowledge and experience.

Prof. Dr. Gudrun De Boeck is a professor at the University of Antwerp and head of the ECOSPHERE research group, which studies ecosystems under human impact on land, in water, and at sea.

Her research focuses on how environmental change affects aquatic organisms, with a strong interest in fish and sharks.

She also chairs the Institute for Environment and Sustainable Development and serves as president of the Society for Experimental Biology.

Inspired by a 2023 expedition to Antarctica, she is committed to education, outreach, and protecting marine and polar ecosystems for future generations.

Dr. Maria De La Fuente Ruiz holds a Ph.D. in Ocean Sciences, where her research focused on methane release from warming ocean sediments and thawing permafrost –key drivers of climate feedbacks.

Alongside her academic work, she is an EU Climate Pact Ambassador, advocating for sustainability and scientific literacy. Passionate about making science accessible, she translates complex environmental issues into engaging narratives for diverse audiences, with a special focus on Spanish-speaking communities.

Through research, advocacy, and communication, Maria works to bridge science and society, empowering people to understand climate change and inspiring collective action for a more sustainable future.

Laura combines marine mammal research with a passion for science communication and ocean literacy.

Her commitment to thinking globally and acting locally inspired her to create Po Bangom, the first ocean literacy organization in Lithuania.

Currently pursuing her PhD at Vilnius University, she studies grey seals in the Baltic Sea while also serving as Communications Officer for UNESCO-IOC’s Global Ocean Observing System.

Through research, outreach, and education, Laura works to connect communities with the ocean and promote sustainable stewardship of marine ecosystems.

Marian is Director of Development at TPF Utilities, specializing in the energy transition for public sector assets.

She led business development at the Democratic Society and has strong experience in marketing and nonprofit work.

Passionate about photography, biodiversity, and climate, she also served on a refugee charity board and made a homelessness documentary.

Global Strategy
ITALY

With a background in psychology and coaching, extensive experience in education, sports, and institutions, she supports public and private entities in developing integrated strategies for social responsibility, environmental sustainability, and human capital management.

She designs and facilitates training programs, develop content, narratives, and events with an interdisciplinary approach based on critical thinking, art, and writing.

She also integrates skills in green urbanism and indoor design to promote sustainable and inclusive environments.

Jean-Simon founded his production company ten years ago, originally under the name VideoProd and now rebranded as Bigdrama.

As director of photography and filmmaker, he has worked across a wide range of audiovisual projects, increasingly focusing on sustainability through documentaries and campaigns.

Passionate about the human condition and its impact on the planet, he has specialized in long-form documentaries, including Sur le champ! (2019) and Même pas peur! (2023, co-produced with RTBF).

He combines creativity and narrative innovation to craft powerful, meaningful stories.
