Who We Are

The Society for Environmental Awareness (SEA) is an international non-profit (iVZW), established by Royal Decree in Belgium. SEA is committed to environmental education and global awareness of climate change, biodiversity loss, and science through storytelling and educational initiatives.

Through visual storytelling, science, and education, we create connections between people and the pressing issues of our time – from climate change and biodiversity loss to our relationship with nature.

Why It Matters

The challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental degradation can feel overwhelming. But at SEA, we believe that every story sparks awareness, and every action creates impact. Together, we can transform knowledge into responsibility — and responsibility into change.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple yet urgent.

To inspire, educate, and empower individuals and communities worldwide to take meaningful action for the future of our planet and oceans.

We believe that awareness is the first step toward change. By making the invisible visible — from melting permafrost to disappearing coral reefs.

We turn science and research into compelling stories that engage both hearts and minds.

What We Do

• Educational Projects

We develop learning programs, lectures, and workshops that translate scientific research into accessible knowledge.

• Visual Storytelling

Through photography, films, and exhibitions, we highlight the human and ecological realities of climate change and biodiversity loss.

• Collaboration with Science

We work closely with universities, researchers, and field experts to ensure that our storytelling is grounded in science.

• Community & Membership

SEA brings together a network of explorers, scientists, artists, and supporters who share a common goal: protecting our planet’s future.
