Follow-up exhibition Provinciehuis Antwerpen: “Polar Regions and Oceans: A Reflection of a Changing Climate”
Building on the success of previous exhibitions, we are proud to present our latest outdoor installation in the garden of the Provinciehuis Antwerpen. This temporary exhibition further strengthens the dialogue between science, policy, and the public within a symbolic institutional setting.
SEAries Lecture Series
The SEAries Lecture Series brings together voices from science, storytelling and beyond, offering inspiring talks that translate complex environmental challenges into accessible and engaging narratives. Each session creates space for dialogue, reflection and new perspectives on the world around us.
In collaboration with the Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development (IMDO) at the University of Antwerp.

SEA in collaboration with the European Commission presents: “Into the Blue – Stories of the Ocean”
In collaboration with the European Commission’s Climate Pact, SEA co-organized the event “Into the Blue – Stories of the Ocean.”
SEA highlighted the importance of ocean literacy and the connection between climate, biodiversity, and society.
SEA Fundraising Event
After the successful launch of SEA in July 2025, it was time to organize a first SEA-fundraising event at Gallery Blue Earth Explorers, bringing together a community of supporters around environmental storytelling. The event combined visual work, dialogue, and engagement to support future projects.
UN COP30, Belèm, Brazil
A UN COP (Conference of the Parties) is the annual supreme decision-making body of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), where nearly every country gathers to negotiate global climate action.
At UN COP30 in Belém, Christian Clauwers, founder of the Society for Environmental Awareness (SEA), delivered a lecture at the International Cryosphere Climate Initiative (ICCI) Cryosphere Pavilion (Blue Zone): “Frozen Heritage & Sinking Islands: The Fight to Preserve Culture in a Warming World.”

Follow-up exhibition Prinsenpark: “Polar Regions and Oceans: A Reflection of a Changing Climate”
Due to the success of the first edition, SEA created a second large-scale outdoor exhibition by photographer Christian Clauwers in the provincial park ‘Prinsenpark’, bringing climate and ocean narratives into a public and accessible setting. The exhibition connected science and storytelling, reaching a broad and diverse audience. One of SEA's objectives is to raise awareness about vulnerable ecosystems through art, including photography exhibitions. This exhibition, open to the public, focused on the ocean and the polar regions.
The exhibition was organized in collaboration with the Province of Antwerp and Rotary Club Antwerpen-Oost.
IUCN World Conservation Congress 2025, Abu Dhabi
“The Frontlines of the Climate Crisis- Documenting the Anthropocene”
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), established in 1948 and based in Gland, Switzerland, is a leading global environmental organization and scientific authority, bringing together over 1,400 government and civil society organizations. Best known for the IUCN Red List of threatened species, it plays a key role in providing science-based knowledge to protect biodiversity worldwide.
Within this context, Christian Clauwers gave the session “The Frontlines of the Climate Crisis – Documenting the Anthropocene” at the IUCN World Conservation Congress Forum, highlighting the role of visual storytelling in capturing environmental change and informing global conservation efforts.

“Polar Regions and Oceans: A Reflection of a Changing Climate”
SEA presented a large-scale outdoor exhibition by photographer Christian Clauwers in the provincial park ‘Rivierenhof’, bringing climate and ocean narratives into a public and accessible setting. The exhibition connected science and storytelling, reaching a broad and diverse audience. One of SEA's objectives is to raise awareness about vulnerable ecosystems through art, including photography exhibitions. This exhibition, open to the public, focused on the ocean and the polar regions.
The exhibition was organized in collaboration with the Province of Antwerp and Rotary Club Antwerpen-Oost.
ESA Living Planet Symposium, Vienna (2025)
“Bridging Art and Earth Observation”
At the European Space Agency’s Living Planet Symposium, Christian Clauwers, founder of SEA, assisted in making the difference in discussions at the intersection of Earth observation, science, and visual storytelling. The symposium highlighted the role of visual satellite data in understanding and communicating planetary change.
UNOC the third United Nations Ocean Conference Nice 2025

SEA participated in the third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3), engaging with global stakeholders on ocean governance and climate resilience. On behalf of SEA, Christian Clauwers contributed to reinforce the urgency of translating scientific knowledge into collective action for the protection of marine ecosystems.
