The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), established in 1948 and based in Gland, Switzerland, is a leading global environmental organization and scientific authority, bringing together over 1,400 government and civil society organizations. Best known for the IUCN Red List of threatened species, it plays a key role in providing science-based knowledge to protect biodiversity worldwide.
Within this context, Christian Clauwers gave the session “The Frontlines of the Climate Crisis – Documenting the Anthropocene” at the IUCN World Conservation Congress Forum, highlighting the role of visual storytelling in capturing environmental change and informing global conservation efforts.
